 Trigger finger:

 also called as stenosing tenosynovitis involves tendons of hand that function finger movement  . It is characterized by the finger or thumb getting stuck in a bent position and then suddenly releasing, similar to pulling the trigger on a gun. This can cause pain, stiffness, and difficulty moving the affected finger or thumb.

Causes :

The underlying cause of trigger finger is typically related to inflammation or irritation of the tendon sheath, which is the protective layer surrounding the tendon. This can occur due to repetitive motion or overuse, as well as certain medical conditions such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, or gout.

Treatment: options for trigger finger treatment may include

 rest,

 Splinting,

Anti-inflammatory medications

 corticosteroid injections.

 In severe cases, surgery may be necessary to release the affected tendon sheath and improve movement in the affected finger or thumb as trigger finger or trigger thumb treatment .
